Enviro-Club

Dr. Y. D. Akhare

Convener

Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati has launched the Enviro-Club in the Institution to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment and a personal commitment to protect and preserve the environment. Students are the best weapons to bring a change in the attitudes of the society. We believe that engaging and participation of students in eco-tours, environmental workshops, scientific inquiry projects, geographical investigations, learning journeys, community outreach etc. will help students to lead, identify and solve environmental problems as well as to inculcate eco-friendly attitude. This club will empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence, engage their parents and neighbourhood communities to promote sound environmental behaviour. It is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in learning about, and improving their environment. An Enviro-Club is a means by which students and youth can organize themselves to learn more and also take action to improve immediate environment conservation and sustainability of their environment. Club activities are categorized into two namely; on college campus and off college campus or community activities. Choosing appropriate activities for the club depends on the local environment and the college itself. Making the decision for the club’s activity is the first step in planning.

Vision

The club is committed towards raising social awareness regarding environmental issues and changing students’ attitude towards the environment by enlisting their active participation in club’s activities.

Mission

The mission of the Enviro-Club is "Go Green initiative" to raise the students' "interest" over environmental issues and to get the students actively involved in environmental matters from their own area. The club also seeks to conserve nature's heritage by education and direct conservation efforts to spread awareness about good environmental practices within Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya.

Enviro-Club of VidyaBharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati is going to play vital role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. It is actively engaged in overall environmental education by adopting various environment friendly approaches for conservation and preservation of environment.
