The Faculty of Social Sciences, a part of B. A. program, comprises of five subjects including Psychology, Sociology, History, Economics and Political Science. These are the optional subjects, out of which the students have to opt any three along with two compulsory languages. The faculty was established in 1992-93.The faculty is rich in academics as well as research, out of six teaching members five are Ph.D. The faculty members strive to inculcate the societal values among the students. Apart from regular classroom teaching, the teaching members focus on imparting knowledge through experiential learning. Therefore, every year the faculty members organize internship program, programs on competitive examinations, field visits, study tour like visit to industrial unit, historical places, reformatories, psychiatric hospitals, old age homes, central jail and gram panchayats etc. The students are encouraged to carry out surveys on various socioeconomic issues. This enables the students to have first-hand experience of the society. The students of this faculty have an excellent record of participation in extracurricular activities including games and sports.
