The Department of computer application is established in the year 2006, which offers two self-financing courses at UG and PG levels. The two specialized programmes including Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) in the field of Computer Applications were offered by the department.
The PG course in MCA is of three year (six semester) duration with intake of 60 seats. It is very popular programme that comes under faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. The course is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi, approved by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State and affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University Amravati.
The PG degree in MCA is considered to be equivalent to engineering degree. This degree not only offers a promising career in IT industries, but also the startups are paying well to the MCA degree holders. The job opportunities available to the MCA degree holder is in Government as well as Private Sector including IT industries.
The UG degree course in BCA is a three years (six semester) programme with intake of 120 seats, which offers the prequalification for professional heading for smart career in the IT field, which measures upto international standards. On completing the course one can do higher studies such as PG course in MCA, MBA etc.
The Department is established in its own building planned as per the given norms with rich infrastructure including three state-of-art Computer Labs having Desktop Computers (PCs), Servers, Printer, Scanners interconnected in LAN having speed of 100 MBPS. The Department is having dedicated broadband connectivity for high speed internet with speed of 40 MBPS. Recently the department had established WiFi connectivity for internet access for students in collaboration with Reliance Communications Ltd.
The Teaching staff of 14 numbers are highly qualified and experienced teachers are the real strength of the department. The student's record for last ten years was very much progressive as the department produces 19university merits, 4 university color holders and more than 40% job placement through campus placement drive amongst the pass out students.
